One of my hobbies is ebaying, because I like finding unique items to put back into the world that would otherwise end up in a landfill. I find these things at thrift shops, as well as yard, garage, estate, and moving sales. My most recent foray was an out-of-state moving sale that included a full storage tote of Breyer collectible horses, along with some unbranded toy ones. I loaded up the car with everything I had purchased and began the drive home. About a mile into my drive back, I heard whinnying. I looked around the fields I was passing but quickly discovered the sound was coming from inside the car. It turns out that one of the many horses I had purchased had batteries in it, a detail I was unaware of when I had tetris-d everything, including the dozen or so horses, into the car.
There was no way I was going to unpack my fully loaded car to find the culprit, so each time there was a bump or dip in the four hundred or so miles I drove home, I heard, “N-e-i-g-h!”
I just laughed and responded, “Giddy-up!”
It doesn’t take much to amuse me!
