My Sketchy Green Thumb

Ah, the title of this post speaks for itself – this year’s garden attempt has produced four jalapenos, six cherry tomatoes, eight garlic bulbs, some rosemary and thai basil, and today we’ll find out just how many potatoes grew, but I’m certain that the yield will not support the cost. I can tell you I had zero return for squashes, other types of peppers, onions, other types of tomatoes, peas, beans, etc., etc., etc.

So here are my thoughts on the probability of me doing this again next year.

Slim to none.

We had dedicated so many resources to this endeavor – funds, water, and time, and received such a little harvest!

So what should I do next year? More research? Plant flowers? Remove all signs of gardening and turning it back to ‘yard’ and grass? Let everything die in peace? Sighing, knowing this is not a ‘today’ decision, but seeking local growers will be on the table as an option for my fresh veggies next year.

I hate giving up on my not-so-green thumb, but perhaps I can channel my efforts into something that might be more productive or easier, if such a thing exists. I thought ‘easier’ was tomatoes or squash, by I’m proof that statement is not true.
