Posting Excerpts Of My Stories – Yes? No?

Thsi morning I have been contemplating whether to post parts of the stories I’m working on, here on my blog. What would be the pros and cons?

The only downside I could think of is that someone could publish my work as their own. Don’t you risk that very problem if you have an outsider read or edit or critique your work? And if that’s the case, how do you trust that your ‘baby’ won’t find its way into the wrong hands?

This is probably the biggest reason (excuse?) that is in the back of my head when I’m trying to finish a project and is also why I’ve got like seven stories that are at about 80% complete. What do I do with them when I feel they are ready to be introduced to the world?

The upside would be that I might be motivated to continue the work on .

Not sure what to do with this dilemma this morning, so I’m back to my coffee pot before researching options and will pose the question once again.

Should I post excerpts of my stories here?
