So my friend did a thing.
We had this conversation a couple months ago about the flooding that takes place in my back yard, EVERY time it rains, despite my efforts to channel the rainwater. I told her that I was thinking about embracing the large puddles, so she sent me a BUNCH of rubber ducks for Christmas, so that the next time it rained, I could conduct duck races.
That enchanted me! I could see having various relays between the different sorts of ducks – the sailor ducks vs. the pirate ducks, the bunny duck vs. Baby Shark duck, and so on, until there was a clear winner. Afterwards, I may just randomly leave ducks here and there (on business store fronts, bumpers, sidewalks), and put little quotes and inspirations on the bottoms of them.
So on my birthday everyone continued this idea; I received two duck T-shirts and a pair of duck earrings. I was totally “ducked” out as I celebrated my birthday!
Additionally, I got some bicycle gear for when the weather cooperates, and an artist’s portfolio case, so I can pursue some of my other interests.
And finally, I got a really cool steel drum music thing I’ve had my eye on, so tonight I’m going to play with that a bit.
Life is good, long live Tory Anne Brown!
