Ah, it’s that time of year again.
It’s time to reflect on what I’ve accomplished and what still needs to be done, my past hails and fails, and what did or didn’t work for me this year. I am also reflecting upon the many blessings I have received and will go into the new year, thanking God for getting me here.
This year has brought me so much joy and peace, as well as trials and tests of my faith! I’ve had many struggles and moments when I didn’t think I could handle even a second more, but it seemed that about the time when I thought I’d cave in and give up, something would happen to ease the stress or the situation or the pain. I’d take a deep breath, step away for a moment, and then wade back into the fray. And today I can say that I’ve made it through 100% of my toughest battles.
So about setting goals.
Those who tout such things say you must set goals and mini agendas to accomplish them, but I’m hesitant to do so because I know “Me”. If I set a goal in writing, there’s a part of me who will do her darndest to sabotage it. This past year (as well as many ‘past years’) has told me that. Having said that, there are several things I’d like to accomplish this next year (but I’m not going to say the “G” word).
I’d like to start an online story time. Never mind that I have no idea how to create a video or edit it.
I’d like to get two stories published. Gotta finish them, dontcha know.
I’d like to lose another fifteen to twenty pounds and maintain the loss.
I want a sustainable garden. Lots to learn there, about what to plant, when, and how much.
And finally, one word, “Declutter” (not touching that topic right now, but putting it out into the universe).
What’s on your agenda? To make it through to 2027 or to simply get past 2025? Should we skip 2026 or do you see yourself being the best you can be in the upcoming year?
Me? I’m out for now. I have an evolving agenda for today – end of the year inventory, take down Christmas lights, and go get my Littles (the grands) to ring in the New Year with. What a great way to end this year and start the next. I might see you later today, but if not,
See You Next Year!
