So, Duncan, Oklahoma does this thing once a year, usually the third week of July. I can’t say that everyone in town has one, but anyone who wants to have a yard sale but doesn’t’ want to pay to advertise it, has one this weekend. Most street corners and intersections have sprouted yard and garage sale signs like dandelions.
My daughter’s yard sale starts today and goes through Saturday, so this morning I am up before dawn to help her finish setting up and to assist with the day. I am on my second cup of coffee, bracing myself for the onslaught as we deal with the throngs of shoppers together.
If you’re having one as well, remember to breathe, smile, and above all, remember to negotiate. I wish you many smooth, happy sales!
