Today is Mother’s Day. Is this a worldwide celebration or is it just a day Americans chose to honor their moms?
My own mother has left this world, but her legacy lives on through the talents her genetics passed on to me and my own children. I am a lover of art, music, and words, all things that my mother exposed me to during my formative years. Today, though she is not with me, I thank her for these loves of mine.
Also today, I’ve forgotten more than I remember of my Mother’s Day pasts; my youngest has been the one child who has always contacted me first, and right now I am sipping my tea, contemplating the children who made me a mother. Some good memories, some not so good, but memories, nonetheless. My post today is more of a reminisce-type one as I process all that I hoped to accomplish in the mother department.
Here’s to hoping your memories are sweet, and that you have a day full of the ones you helped bring into the world.
Peace to all!
