My Ever-Present Agenda

I have a task list that is ongoing, meaning that I keep it in a binder and when I think of things I want (or need) to accomplish, I jot them down. Sometimes there will be an actual deadline or sometimes it’s self-imposed, but in any case, if it’s logged into the ‘book’, it will get done. Once everything on that page is finished (and has the date of completion), that page will be filed in the back of the binder for any necessary notes or reference.

I’ll give an example.

I want to paint my kitchen walls. This task has several steps before I can actually apply paint – I need to remove the rest of the wallpaper, skim coat the walls, prime, and then finally, apply the paint color, so I can’t just write, “Paint Kitchen.” By listing out the various steps, I stay both on track and see an accomplishment as I go through the process.

Taxes are another example. The due date on that is obviously April 15th, but my self-imposed deadline is in four days, so I have a few days to make sure I’ve reviewed everything, and all is correct.

My solo task for today is a simple one. Print out more pages for my task list, so I’m off to do just that. Everything else can wait until tomorrow, when I have more time.

Out for now, make it a great one for you!
