With All the Best Intentions…

Well, I posted the other day that my mornings would be started out with coffee and a morning blog.

Yes, that jinxed my whole day yesterday! First thing that happened was that my computer monitor screen went wonky. I’ve never seen such pretty colors! It happened just as I clicked on the Google link, which at first, made me think it was something that Google had created, but I closed down the windows I had opened, and my desktop screen had the same look.

Yep, this was how I started my day. Hubbin was able to get it back to where it needed to be, but I think this is one of those ‘warning tremors’ for an upcoming possible disaster, so I started researching options.

We also got to have the littles yesterday. For those just joining, those are my two young grandsons. They stayed the night, so we put up their little tents in the family room, switched anything news-related to a movie on the big screen in there, and then baked and decorated a cake for Grandpa

“For no reason!” they exclaim, when they talk about it.

They are so proud of the job they did! Me too!

Let’s see, what else was going on. The usual, but yesterday it was 106 degrees and today it is 107, so anything outdoor-related is shelved until we can breathe and not die from heat stroke. Translate, yard work, gardening, watering, wood-working, and so on and so on, are put on the back burner until the temperatures lower to two digits.

I am making a tic-tac-toe board for the littles out of a piece of wood I found the other day – it needs some work. I’ll post pictures of it here when I’m done with it, which, the way the weather is predicted for the next week or so, may just be sometime in September. *Sigh*

After breakfast this morning (and cake, of course), the littles and I headed out to church, them to Sunday school, and me for morning service. I am enjoying this new church. People are friendly without being scary-clingy. There’s no pressure to drink any Kool-Aid, know what I mean? I’m a writer and I’m always looking for ulterior motives in behaviors, words, and actions. I hear only joy and peace in the sermons here. There’s no Hell, fire, and brimstone, just simple worship. I need this. Anyway, after church, the littles and I met up with my daughter to hand off them and their stuff, and I headed home to jump into the fray at home. My biggest challenge today is to try and stay cool. There’s so much I want to get done but am just going to use this as a day of rest. Or at least what’s left of this day.

So, until next time, take care (and eat cake!)!
