Our patio is one of my favorite places to hang out. It faces south and is surrounded on three sides by our home. One of the first renovations we did when we moved in, was to screen it in so we could use it, fairly bug-free. I do a lot of my writing out there and we have had our meals and movie nights out there, but the colder weather has put a damper on this relaxation time.
Well, the other day, I got the idea to purchase some plastic sheeting (Visqueen), and tacked it up with trim boards to cover the screens, and guess what? It is ten degrees warmer on the patio than it is outside this morning! I guess it will remain to be seen if my patio fix will last the winter, but for now, I’m looking forward to spending a bit more of my day “outside” at one of my favorite places.
