Black Friday and Other Such Nonsense

I have a grocery and Christmas list, but today is not the day for me to venture out on a shopping expedition. I guess the retailers aren’t targeting me when they say, “You can save 50% if you buy it today,” because my response is, “I can save 100% if I don’t!”

I’m not in a ‘bah-humbug’ mood today, I’m just tired of the hype and my own groceries are now costing me four times as much as this same time last year. I’ve reworked and reworked my budget to allow for the increase, but this morning I’m just not in the mood to be in a crowded place, vying for the latest and greatest, knowing it will probably cost (even on sale) four times as much this year than a previous version of it did last year.

So I guess today is going to be a ‘clean the house, get ready to put up the tree’ sort of day, and I’ll be saving 100%.
