Watching It Rain

Because I love watching the rain, it is difficult for me to get focused on tasks today. Rain is coming down and all I want to do is get my coffee cup and head out to the patio to watch it and ponder life. The people in the know say it is going to be an all-day event, though we are supposed to get a ten-minute respite from it about 5 p.m. But then, they say, the heavens are predicted to really open up and pour out the top three – wind, rain, and hail.

So, it’s an indoor day.

I’m revisiting my ‘to-do’ list for indoor tasks and will take intermittent breaks to get my coffee cup and head out to the patio to watch the storm.

And as a side note, I just glanced out my window and saw a huge squirrel racing along the top of our back fence, heading for shelter, I imagine, but I’m grinning here because today, even as I write, I’m easily distracted – “Squirrel!”
