Tracing Electrical Lines

Hubbin was tracing the lines and breakers in our home’s electrical panel, since the original list that was taped to the inside panel door was brittle; each time we had to open the panel, more of the original list disintegrated and fell off.

He found two breakers that did nothing when he tripped them but then found that one of the lights in the garage stayed lit, no matter which switch he turned off. After multiple tries with the whole breaker box and the on/off process, we realized that someone had put in an emergency safety light bulb in that socket – the type that stays lit when the power goes out.
