It seems as if my thoughts, my day, and my life could be reflected in a song, and today’s song lyrics are no exception. “Monday morning, you gave me no warning, of what was to be….”
Today will be about catching up on all the things I put off this weekend so that I could have downtime: household chore mundaneness, my eBay business, and grocery shopping. Have I mentioned just how much I detest grocery shopping? The best invention since sliced bread was grocery pickup. I have used it almost exclusively, but lately my products are ‘not available’ so I actually have to go into the store and yes, find those unavailable items on the shelves. If the store cannot or choose not to ‘see’ the item I want, they will substitute it for something that might cost two to three times the price of the original item, so I either have to do without, or accept a different product that I might not even be able to use! I have allergies, so there’s a reason I choose the items I choose. There are of course drawbacks to online shopping. Getting produce that is fresh is the biggest downside to online shopping because I’m sure nobody is going to do it better than I could (ha, there’s my control-freak-arrogance raising its ugly head!). That said, I repeat, I detest grocery shopping. Monday, Monday…
*Sigh*
Hubbin also wants to assist with the business, so today I’ll teach him my spreadsheet and how to balance and reconcile to my online store. He knows how to ship items out but since I’ve revised my methods for filing and storage, I want to show him how much easier it is to process sold items. Right now though, he is in the middle of an online training video/instruction.
My office window looks out onto our back yard where I see randomness throughout my time spent at my desk. We have a squirrel that has claimed our yard. He is large, much bigger than the others I’ve seen, and he lords it over them, running them off if they even look at our yard. I suppose I should be thankful that there is only one squirrel to contend with, and most of the time I’m amused by his antics and just how bushy he gets against a perceived threat, but there are days when he digs in our yard to either bury something or dig something up. I want to shoo him away, but I know he’ll be back, or his comrades will overtake it. Which is worse, one squirrel or a dozen of them? Most of the time though, he goes from Point A to Point B, patrolling his domain, scurrying along the top of our back fence as he goes from tree to tree.
So now that I’ve gone shiny (“Squirrel!”), I will jump into the rest of my day and get through my Monday, Monday, and all the while that little tune will be on repeat in my head.
Happy Monday to you!
